Communications Leadership Council.
What this is
- A voluntary, professional community for communicators who care about accuracy, visibility, and impact
- A space to help shape how hunger is understood nationally
- A platform to collaborate, advise, and contribute when appropriate
What this is not
- A lobbying or political organization
- A required advocacy role
- A demand on your employer or public position
Communicators Have More Power
Than We Think.
Communicators alone cannot end hunger in America. Hunger is a complex social, economic, and policy issue rooted in poverty, access, and inequality. Ending it takes systemic solutions such as stronger social safety nets, living wages, affordable housing, and equitable food systems.
But sustained progress often begins with one thing communicators know how to do best: start conversations that can't be ignored and keep them visible over time.
The End Hunger Network is building a citizen's movement to end hunger in the United States, and we are inviting experienced communicators to help make it happen. We're asking them to help:
- Change public perception. How Americans understand and talk about hunger directly affects how much social and political will exists to solve it. In a country built on promise and plenty, no child should ever wonder where their next meal will come from.
- Build national urgency. Stories move people in ways statistics alone cannot. Messaging and storytelling can keep hunger visible, human and urgent beyond moments of crisis, touching hearts as well as headlines, and turning awareness and empathy into action.
- Mobilize attention and resources. The right message opens doors. Effective and moving communication attracts partners, funders, influencers, and institutions to support solutions and strengthen the movement.
- Shift culture and expectations. Communicators can reframe hunger from a matter of charity to one of justice, dignity, and shared responsibility. When people understand hunger as solvable, they begin to expect action.
This is a community of creative pros who are using their craft to change lives...without stepping away from their careers. Members of the Communications Leadership Council are shaping how America sees hunger and what it does about it. You bring your voice, creativity, influence, and professional judgment. We provide the platform, shared context, tools, and the connections to extend your impact.
Why You'll Value Being Part of the Council
The Communications Leadership Council brings together experienced communicators from media, nonprofit, corporate, and creative sectors who want to apply their craft thoughtfully to one of the country’s most persistent challenges.
Participation is flexible and self-directed. Some members engage occasionally. Others contribute more actively during key moments or projects.

Words change minds.
Messages change history.
From civil rights to climate awareness, progress has always followed the message-makers who framed the story, shifted perception, and sustained attention long enough for expectations to change.
